Role Description The Base Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the flight school. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to managing incoming prospective student inquires, managing the schedule for both flight and ground training, growing the student base, monitoring dispatch, billing, along with actively working and communicating with students and colleagues and enthusiastically promoting the flight school. This position will operate the PSI test facility at Allentown, which will include daily proctoring of tests, maintaining a testing schedule, software updates, training updates and maintaining sensitive personal and FAA information. This position also requires upkeep of the flight training facility to always present a clean, inviting training space.

Essential Job Functions, Responsibilities, and Duties•

  • Support flight operations by scheduling aircraft, students, and instructor resources with weather and operational needs
  • Ensure instructors have dispatched and checked in all flights, and complete invoices post-flight
  • Ensure all lessons are logged by the instructors
  • Ensure all security and required documentation is on file for each student prior to flight
  • Assist in the coordination of ground school courses
  • Ensure that all course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by all
student/clients as stipulated in the applicable training course outline
  • Work with Chief Instructor/Operations and Admissions Manager to support and manage Flight Instructors to assure compliance with safety, FAA, and customer service standards.
  • Process paperwork for new students and maintain student folders to FAA standards
  • Ensuring all flight school personnel are TSA compliant with updated record-keeping for certifications/training
  • Assist the Operations and Admissions Manager in the recruitment of new students with marketing and student outreach by responding to new student inquiries, building a rapport with prospective students and setting up initial student visit.
  • Assist the Operations and Admissions Manager and Chief Instructor in planning and execution of programs involving personnel, equipment, policies, and procedures required of the Flight Training Department in maintaining Company objectives of providing safe, efficient, profitable pilot training
  • Coordinate with Chief Instructor and Assistant Chief Instructors for Part 61/Part 141 stage checks on Private, Instrument, and Commercial students, as needed
  • Scheduling and maintaining relationships with DPE’s
  • Maintain the utmost degree of safety when inside and outside moving and non-moving aircraft
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies

• Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer software knowledge required • Must be tactful, courteous, and conscience of client needs • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills, along with outstanding verbal and written communication • Customer Service/Sales experience in a professional environment preferred
