Financial Analyst I

Salary range: $28.60 - $42.90/hour, depending on experience

United Health Services is seeking a Financial Analyst I to join our Physician Financial Services Team in Vestal, NY. The Financial Analyst I supports the UHS Physician Practice Division. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Financial Analyst I Overview

The analyst provides financial expertise, analysis and reporting related to the UHS Physician Practice Division. They also analyze metric trends, prepare financial forecasts, as well as identify issues and opportunities through analysis and benchmarking.

Financial Analyst I Key Responsibilities and Expectations

• Identifies issues and opportunities through trend analysis, benchmarking assessment and interviews with key individuals
• Implements identified improvement opportunities
• Provides financial expertise to Division members, management, and staff at all levels in support of special projects
• Works collaboratively with all system members on day-to-day services and special projects as required (e.g., new business generation, cost reduction, increased productivity)
• Analyzes metric trends and provides qualitative and quantitative explanations of significant changes in metrics
• Prepares financial outlooks and financial forecasts
• Prepares worksheets, schedules, and analysis for the annual operating plans for Division members in concert with UHS System goals
• Develops and maintains physician practice reporting
• Participates on committees related to the effective accomplishment of UHS System objectives
• Performs all other duties that may be assigned by the Manager of Physician Financial Services and the Senior Director of Physician and Post-Acute Care Services
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany billings with UHSH affiliates

Position Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• 3 years of relevant experience in this discipline
• Familiarity with MS Office technology suite

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare or similar
• 3 years of relevant experience in health care industry
