TASK FORCE: New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority (NYW)

JOB TITLE: One (1) Analyst/ Senior Analyst / Supervising Analyst

SUMMARY:

The New York City Municipal Water Finance Authority (NYW) is the world’s largest public sector water and wastewater financing authority. NYW issues nearly $2 billion of long-term tax-exempt debt annually to finance capital projects on behalf of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. NYW also manages a large investment portfolio and is responsible for servicing its $31 billion portfolio of outstanding debt.

NYW is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of financial analyst to work on the NYW’s financing program, debt service budgets and debt management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of this position encompass the following:

  • Maintain and update debt and investment databases;
  • Process reimbursement requests and periodic reporting to oversight agencies;
  • Assist with OMB financial plan process;
  • Maintain investment banking and market databases, including bond pricing statistics, variable rate bond performance, secondary market trading information and syndicate underwriting performance;
  • Assist with NYW bond issuances and financing transactions;
  • Assist with computation, review, and processing of NYW’s expense, bond and swap payments;
  • Assist with organizing and filing of investment banking proposals and bond issuance documents;
  • Assist in investor relations including creating MS Power Point presentations, responding to investor inquiries and conference planning.

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.

Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or related area of study. Relevant work experience in finance, investments, and/or budgeting is desirable.
  • Relevant coursework includes the following: Financial Management, Investments, Options & Futures, Fixed Income Securities, and/or Accounting.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, and willingness to learn other financial software packages & programming languages. Knowledge of Bloomberg is a plus.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, organizational skills, and communication skills.

Additional Information

REQUIREMENTS:

Analyst ($65,604+): Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of full-time experience in budgetary planning/management, financial analysis, public policy analysis or a related field, or a Master's degree in Business, Public Policy Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Senior Analyst ($73,806+): Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Policy Analysis/Administration, or a subject related to the specific assignment and a minimum of three years of full-time experience in budgetary planning/management, financial analysis, public policy analysis/administration, or a related field; or an awarded Master's degree in Business, Public Policy Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field, and one year of relevant experience.

Supervising Analyst ($83,399): Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of full-time experience in budgetary planning/management, accounting, financial analysis, public policy analysis or a related field, or an awarded Master's degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field, and two years of relevant experience.
