JOB DESCRIPTION

The Finance Manager is responsible for Store Operations financial planning and analysis, including but not limited to store labor planning, forecast and management, store target ownership and alignment across store dashboards and financial systems. Will lead the annual planning process for creation of weekly / daily store targets. Additional responsibilities will involve month-end analysis, monthly forecast, analyzing and measuring strategic initiatives and productivity projects, as well as ad hoc support as necessary.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to dive in and help understand the key drivers of financial results and an appetite to get involved in all aspects of financial planning, modeling, and reporting. Building cross-functional partnership and being adaptable as different opportunities arise will be critical to this role and in establishing yourself within the broader organization. Additionally, the ability to leverage new tools will continue to play a role in your success as the function and the company are rapidly transforming the toolsets/capabilities of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead store labor planning, forecast, and management
    • Financial ownership of labor forecast model
    • Leading, analyzing, and measuring labor productivity projects
    • Partnering with Labor, HR, Compensation, and Field Operation teams on metric-driven actions to improve labor leverage
  • Manage end to end store target setting process including PBCS and Dashboard systems
  • Creation of daily weekly targets during Annual Operating Planning process
  • Managing target changes throughout the year
  • Processing target changes through the dashboard and PBCS and balance the systems
  • Month-end analysis, reporting and forecasting:
  • Financial ownership of specific P&L accounts
  • Interacting with business owners to understand forecast and P&L drivers
  • Preparing presentation material for review with executive leadership
  • Evaluating and tracking strategic initiatives to make sure we meet long term business objectives:
  • Periodic evaluation of strategic initiatives against the target set in strategic business plan
  • Coordinating with business owners to identify and solve gaps as necessary

  • Technical Qualifications:
  • Ability to model financials with a solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to leverage technology to obtain more information, more deeply, and more efficiently
  • Ability to translate desired outcomes into your underlying work product
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, perform analysis, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of senior management, department heads, and the Finance teams
  • Attention to quality, reconciliation, and accuracy are critical as the audience is often management / executive level staff and the decisions being made are significant in scope/impact
  • Creativity and vision to recommend ways to evolve our infrastructure, process, and analytic capabilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related required (Advanced Degrees such as an MBA or cross specialization with a technical specialty (Comp Science, Mathematics, etc. is a plus); and

4+ years of experience in a Finance field

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will develop over time. Initially collaborating/mentoring with others within the broader organization.
