SEEC Finance Associate
Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation, commonly known as “SEEC,” was organized to strengthen Schoharie County by fostering economic growth. Finance Associate
Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation (SEEC) is in search of a dynamic Finance Associate to advance organizational priorities that will foster economic growth in Schoharie County. The Finance Associate will be a key team member reporting to the Executive Director in a lean fast-paced organization. Primary responsibilities will include overseeing basic bookkeeping, grant program compliance, database management, reporting and special project assignments all to support Main Street and small business development. Finance Associate Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to manage multiple on-going projects and people
- Oversee QuickBooks posting monthly accounts payable, tracking receivables and preparing payment requests for authorization
- Research, recommend and implement automated system applications to improve productivity
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports for internal use and annual audit
- Coordinate renewal of professional service agreements
- Become the in-house expert for various technology platforms that manage workflows, organize company records and protect confidential client documents
- Assist in the management of revolving loan or grant programs sponsored by SEEC
- Assist in the development and administration of initiatives funded, in part, by federal and/or state grants with discipline, acumen and willingness to follow strict compliance requirements
- Present reports on general economic trends, individual corporations, and whole industries, as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial information, investment decisions, and any other tasks assigned by the organization.

Finance Associate Qualifications/ Skills Required
- Knowledge and experience with basic accounting principles and practices
- Strong aptitude and proficiency with office/accounting software and spreadsheets i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Office 365, QuickBooks, financial modeling and analysis applications
- Data analytics and good IT troubleshooting skills
- Experience with database management, Salesforce preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills, detail oriented, self-motivated and organized
- Good research, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of laws, government regulations, and legislation that may affect finance and economic development
- Familiarity with online merchant services and e-commerce platforms
- Proven acumen for successful project management
- Professionalism expressed toward workplace peers, customers and organizational alliances
- Critical thinker, seeks cooperative solutions and a strong problem solver
A detail-oriented, critical thinker with ability to shift from project to project without losing sight of priorities can excel in this position. Basic verbal/written communication and technical skills are essential. A passion for community-driven results, individual enrichment and desire to improve the quality of life and economic opportunity for all individuals in the Schoharie County community required.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, statistics, data science or related field
- Minimum of four years demonstrated and relevant work experience

Pay: $52,000.00 - $66,560.00 per year
