We are looking for special Family Practice medical professionals (NP, PA) to serve the primary care needs of our local rural community residents in Coalinga, California.

Nestled in the Pleasant Valley at the eastern edge of California’s Coastal Mountain Range, Coalinga is surrounded by hills and ranches. The City is near the southwestern tip of Fresno County. Monterey County lies to the west. Kings County sits to the east.

The spectacular view of the Valley and surrounding hills is preserved with deliberate planning. You won’t find a hi-rise obstructing the natural beauty. Downtown Coalinga is quaint and filled with personality. It serves as the commercial, civic, cultural and recreational hub.

Local parks, green belts, trails and scenic vistas provide a natural complement to development in the area. Coalinga is accessible to and from major cities within the state. California’s main north-south artery, Interstate 5, is just 10 miles to the east. Highways 198 and 33 intersect the city.

Job Description

The family practice clinic provider focuses on utilizing a holistic approach to patient care with emphasis on health promotion & patient education/counseling as well as supporting direct care staff through education and mentorship with the shared goal of providing exceptional patient care to a mixed population of community patients in the rural health clinic.

Specific Tasks include

  • Thorough medical history/exam and documenting
  • Comprehensive wellness and episodic primary care clinic visits
  • Prescribe medication, DME, & treatments as appropriate
  • Order and interpret laboratory and other diagnostic tests as appropriate
  • Instruct patients on selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultation, and laboratory examinations relevant to their case
  • Educate and counsel patient and family members concerning health promotion, self-care skills, disease prevention, and treatment options in coordination with other healthcare providers
  • Participate in periodic meetings that enhance an interdisciplinary approach to primary health care
  • Identify quality improvement issues with respect to improving patient care
  • Maintain a current level of knowledge relative to professional medical practice
  • Educate and act as a resource to ancillary staff
  • Request for specialty referrals w/consultations where applicable

Job Types: Full-time, Employment

NP/PA (FT 40hr/wk) $156-176K/year ($75-85/hr) +/- DOE
