What does a Fabrication Supervisor & Setup do?
- Manage the department with emphasis on mentoring, training, and developing all employees to their full potential.
- Define the role and placement of each employee in the department. Ensure they are trained and the department is properly staffed to meet production requirements.
- Ensures a safe and positive work environment by enforcing policies and practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and discipline employees when needed.
- Hold weekly quality meetings with department employees.
- Hold daily 5 minute safety meetings with department employees.
- Ensure ISO compliance throughout the department.
- Perform Corrective Action including root cause analysis within documented time constraints.
- Enforce all quality programs and ensure that the department is meeting their requirements
- Plan, organize and direct activities based on the production control schedule.
- Use the AS400 System to access production requirements and report the daily completions. Also must approve labor daily.
- Determine the best process to use for each job and define the tooling and fixtures needed to run efficiently.
- Analyze departmental data including KPI’s and incentive measures regarding efficiencies and use the numbers to drive improvement.
- Investigate and implement methods for rate improvements and overall annual improvements to meet or exceed goals.
- Maintain communication boards and update on a daily basis.
- Enforce all 5S and safety programs and ensure that the department is meeting their requirements.
- Schedule and assure Belco heat treat oven is being used in an efficient manner as required.
- Communicate with off shift supervisors any problems and any priorities.
- Every part scrapped must be reported using Scrap Report Form - 8.3.2. This form must be turned in to QC daily, even if there is no scrap.
- Comply with the organization’s Integrated (Quality, Environmental and Safety) Policy and all other safety and health and environmental practices, programs, and procedures.
- Participate in the Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (EMS/OHSMS) by reporting incidents or near misses, reporting problems and recommending improvements, and other related activities.
- Successfully complete required environmental and health & safety (OHSMS) training.
- Stop work immediately if you consider conditions or work methods to be unsafe or environmentally unsound and notify your manager of the problem.
Compensation: $23-$25 BOE
Shift: 2nd shift M-F 2:30 pm 11:30 pm and OT may be required based on production need

Basic Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- 3+ years' experience of supervising a team of 5+ employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lead by example; prioritize workload, strategically plan, reliable, punctual, and driven.
- Effectively communicate with leadership, employee relations, and resolving discrepancies
- The ability to write SOP’s.
- The ability to train people on the production floor to the SOP’s.
- The ability to complete Corrective Action analysis.
- The ability to demonstrate organizational safety knowledge.
- The ability to manage, plan, prioritize and implement detailed instructions for employees.
- The ability to work overtime as needed.
- Experience with Machine Operation
- Exp. running and setting up fabricating machinery ie drill and punch presses.
