Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a contingent opportunity available for full time Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Level III Technician in Virginia Beach, VA.

Summary: The Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Level III Technician will provide troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and material assessment of various types of Heavy Equipment mechanical systems and components in accordance with OEM technical specifications in CONUS & OCONUS locations, as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Uses technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and identify causes for equipment/system failure to the component level.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Performs Lay-ups and related maintenance checks of Heavy Equipment in mid-level storage program.
• Performs Start-ups and related maintenance checks of Heavy Equipment in mid-level storage program.
• Provides written reports for all work accomplished and completed action documentation.
• Operates air brake equipped vehicles during the course of troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.
• Performs other duties as assigned in support of maintenance/repair as required.
• Maintains shop equipment.
• Provides technical support relative to the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Heavy Equipment mechanical systems, subsystems and components including but not limited to:
• Ford Power Stroke Engine
• Chevy Duramax Engine
• Cummins Diesel Engines
• John Deere Engines
• Kubota Engines
• Mercedes Engines
• Caterpillar Diesel Engine
• Duramax Turbo Diesel Engine
• Allison Transmissions
• 4L80E Transmission
• 15KW and 45KW Generators
• IGET HVAC System
• Hydraulic Systems for 55-ton Lowboy Trailers
• 15K and 30K Forklift Hydraulic Systems

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent vocational degree or general educational diploma
• a minimum of 3 years’ general experience in their respective trade and at least 2 consecutive years of experience repairing and troubleshooting the aforementioned Heavy Equipment
• Knowledge of proper use of diagnostic equipment.
• Possess basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Possess organizational skills.
• Possess effective oral and written communication.
• Have extensive knowledge of technical requirements.
• Ability to identify complex problems and solutions.
• Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible.
• Ability to travel overseas when required.
• Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain US Passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior military expeditionary equipment maintenance experience.
• A graduate of CUMMINS Insite Familiarization course and hold an Insite Qualification & Tier 3 QSB/QSC Engine Qualifications
• and/or
• Certified in Air Conditioning (AC) & Refrigeration (R).
• and/or
• Certified Universal HVAC technician (Freon 407C).
• and/or
• Certified OSHKOSH technician

ADA Notations:

• Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a field environment for extended periods (and in some cases, areas of extreme heat and humidity such as Guam, Djibouti, Bahrain, etc).
• Ability to be able to work in maintenance shop environment
• Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions.
• Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
• Job may require bending, stooping, lifting, and will be in an environment of low and high temperatures.
