Frontier Energy specializes in monitoring and data collection on energy efficiency technologies and utility programs. Measuring, collecting, verifying, storing, and analyzing high quality performance data is at the core of our expertise. Ensuring complete, high quality, data sets is a fundamental need in order to provide our clients expert, unbiased, data driven solutions. Duties for this role will include data collection oversight, data submission and reporting, data quality review, client interaction, and collaboration with staff engineers.
Scope
Frontier is seeking a self-motivated applicant to support projects and staff with automated data collection, aggregation, loading, quality assurance, submission, and display of a wide variety of energy and HVAC technologies. This position will not only support efforts out of the Cazenovia office but Frontier offices across the country (TX, MN, CA) on an as needed basis.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage automated data collection, processing, loading, and display.
- Client / customer outreach to address interruptions in automated data streams.
- Support project engineers with data handling and management.
- Support IT and development staff with managing data handling processes, data presentation and visualization, and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or engineering (from an ABET accredited program) is required. No relevant work experience necessary.
- Must have an appropriate level of knowledge of engineering physics, statistics, and experimental design, pass all required safety training and follow all safety guidelines.
- Must be willing and able to contribute in a team environment, while also possessing the capability to perform work independently when necessary.
- Willing to develop skills outside existing experience.
- Does not require regular direct supervision.
Skills / Experience
- Proficiency in handling large amounts of data, with an emphasis on quality assurance. Experienced with time-series and multidimensional qualitative data sets.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
- Ability to operate independently and in cross-functional teams with asynchronous workflows
- Experience with modern data handling languages such as Python or R and the ability to write data automation scripts
- Expert level experience with Excel and Office Application.
