Fairview Ridges Emergency Department is a Level 3 Trauma Center located in Burnsville, MN near the 35E and 35 W conjunctions. The hospital has been providing state-of-the-art care and community services to the residents of the scenic Minnesota Valley since 1984. We have 45 beds, see an average of 191 patients daily, and a yearly census of approximately 66,000 and growing! Team members include Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Transport, and Case Managers.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
Emergency Department Inpatient Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monitoring care caring for observation patients and inpatients who are awaiting admission to an appropriate unit.
- Provide med/surg nursing care experience within the emergency department setting and the adult inpatitent wing on the 4th floor of the hospital.
- Triage patients effectively according to policies, laws, and resources.
- Uses the nursing process to provide care for any patient presenting to the department. An individualized plan of care is developed in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team to support the physical and emotional needs of a wide variety of ill/ injured patients.
- Prioritizes the care of multiple patients with varied presentations.
- Initiates timely interventions to prevent, correct, or minimize risks to the patient.
- Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare team to develop and execute a plan of care to address patient presentations to the ED including illnesses and injuries in all age groups.
- Provides effective and timely patient/family education related to the treatment plan.
- Recognizes and responds to subtle or rapid changes in patient status
After one year of experience in this role, the RN will have an opportunity to cross-train and transition into the emergency department.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Current MN RN license
- BLS for Health Care Providers
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Willing to consider new grad RNs
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or highter
- 1 year of emergency department, med/surg, or critical care experience.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
