JOB DESCRIPTION:
Emergency Department Administrative Assistant Team Lead reports directly to the Administrative Supervisor. The ED Team Lead assumes responsibility for and assists with training and performance improvement of the Administrative staff. The ED Team Lead must be proficient with patient account creation, accurate payer identification, assuring payer requirements, verification of insurance benefits, and maintaining quality service and customer satisfaction. The ED Team Lead is responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities and leading these initiatives through working relations with the Administrative Supervisor, various CVMC departments and Managers to ensure registration processes are meet quality compliance. This position supports and promotes the ideal patient experience, by ensuring all necessary information is retrieved and entered into the computer system. The ED Team Lead will maintain absolute confidentiality of all patient information. The ED Team Lead works cooperatively with staff members and management in a professional, positive manner to ensure quality service. This position is expected to be familiar with and adhere to corporate policies, procedures and state and federal regulations.
EDUCATION:
Knowledge of current patient access guidelines, State and Federal Regulations, professional Services and Compliance. Ability to operate general office equipment, proficiency with computers, and demonstrates excellent problem solving skills.
Associate Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field required. Three years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years experience with patient registration processing in medical setting. Must have the ability to extract pertinent information from the patient, to articulate the purpose for required data elements, to interpret insurance information, and to ensure accurate and complete data entry. Experience with computer scheduling and prominent customer service required.
