Who We Want
We are currently seeking a Electrical Engineer to work in our Engineering department within our Flex Air division at our Copper Ave. location in Fenton, MI. Flex Air is focused on delivering industry leading and energy efficient high-performance HVAC systems. Every solution is meticulously engineered to meet and exceed our customer's expectations. Our products consist of custom air handling units, prefabricated modular systems and retrofits. The Electrical Engineer will review project specifications, research, design, and document electrical/electromechanical solutions for commercial and industrial HVAC, hydronic plants, and electrical power distribution projects. Provide electrical engineering support for installation, testing, and repair of electrical/electromechanical products and systems.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design and test electrical systems and equipment such as power generators, electronic control systems, communications systems, HVAC equipment, lighting circuits, medium and low voltage electrical circuits, and mechanical pumping systems.
- Assess and evaluate electrical systems, products and components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of NED to electrical design and function.
- Troubleshoot relay and data system designs
- Research and document relay test results
- Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components, soliciting observation form operators.
- Track project timelines to complete tasks on schedule
- Ensure reliable operation of equipment
- May assist in performing unique setups, troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems.
- Evaluate machine and equipment. Recommend purchase of capital equipment items designed to improve production efficiency.
- Review cost estimate and job specific requirements and report as engineering design with any costing descriptions
- Design and layout for modular construction (skid mount applications and enclosures).

What Requirements Are Needed
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. At least three (3) years of concurrent Electrical Engineering experience. Three plus (3+) years of experience in programming HVAC Design electrical circuits both high and low voltage.
- Significant manufacturing floor knowledge within the HVAC and fabrication industry.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methods
- Knowledge of relay design standards
- Excellent root cause analysis skills
- Knowledge of Tool Room Management, Piping and Industrial Manufacturing desired.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Modular and Data Center Experience a plus
- Ability to interact and provide direction to factory electricians
- Basic knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls systems
- Modular construction and Data Center experience is a plus
- Experience with Medium Voltage power distribution equipment is a plus
