Electrical Engineer
Job description
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Under the general direction of the Senior Supervising Engineer, Facilities or Designee provides electrical engineering support to the Engineering Department through the completion of assigned roadway and facility related projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs and manages the efforts of consulting engineers, architects and subordinate members of the Department, both for design and construction supervision in accordance with Authority Standards.
- Prepares budgets, estimates, plans, and specifications and is responsible for other administrative matters including the preparation of Requests For Expressions of Interest, Technical and Fee Proposals, and recommends selections of consulting engineers that comply with Authority requirements.
- Provides field assistance to Authority personnel and contractors working on Authority roadways or at other facilities.
- Makes appropriate recommendations to Direct Report in all areas with respect to assigned projects, including construction and maintenance activities.
- Assists with review and development of departmental procedures, operating practices, and material and product evaluations as well as develop specifications as required. Completes other special assignments as instructed by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- New Jersey Professional Engineer License, preferred.
- Six (6) or more years of related design and/or construction experience.
- A broad knowledge of design, permitting and construction of facilities and roadways.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD and construction scheduling.
- Must possess a valid NJ Driver’s License.
