Job Summary: Bidwell Riverside is a non-profit that serves children between the ages of two and five. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the Lead Teachers in implementation of the curriculum, supervising children, and providing a healthy, safe and developmentally appropriate environment for children.

The work hours for this position will be Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Education and Experience:

Required: At least 18 years old, a high school diploma or GED, completion of all state-required early childhood training classes, and one year experience in group care. Successful applicants are expected to continue formal training to meet program requirements.

Preferred: A CDA (Child Development Associate credential) and two years’ experience in group care.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
• Advance physical and intellectual competence of the children.
• Support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.
• Establish positive and productive relationships with families.
• Ensure a well-run purposeful program responsive to participant needs.
• Maintain a commitment to professionalism.

Pay rate will be $16.00 per hour dependent upon experience and education. Stay bonus every quarter ($500) with good attendance.
