JOB DESCRIPTION: Doctors’ Assistant (Scribe)

WILLING TO TRAIN!

Full-time/Part-time

SUMMARY: Following patient confidentiality guidelines, the Doctors’ Assistant (Scribe) is responsible for assisting the doctor in the examination room. Responsible for transcribing information into patients’ charts during the doctor’s examination. Answers patient questions, provides patients and families with information regarding the doctor’s plan, next steps, and at-home care procedures. Assists in minor surgical procedures, both sterile and non-sterile.

PRE-REQUISITES:

*Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.

*Demonstrates excellent skills in verbal and written English communications to meet documentation standards. Basic computer skills and organizational skills.

*Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build cooperative working relationships with all staff members, patient, families, and visitors.

*Ability to relate and work effectively with others, demonstrating respect for co-workers and doctors.

* Understand and demonstrate importance of maintaining a neatly organized work area.

*High School graduate or GED equivalent required.

* Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and be adaptable to various and changing situations.

*Understand and have responsibility for own actions.

*Ability to multi-task.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

• 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Saint Joseph, MI 49085: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Typing: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
