Job SummaryReporting to the VP of Compensation, Payroll & HRIS, the Director of Payroll will oversee the operations of the organization's payroll function.
Job Duties
Oversees activities of a team of 10+ payroll specialists and analysts that input payroll data and prepare payroll checks for 150+ hotel properties. Ensures that personnel or tax law changes are captured, that overtime or bonus payments are accurately distributed, and that timesheets are submitted and retained appropriately. Ensures compliance with payroll laws and regulations at the state, federal, international level. Serves as the Company's payroll liaison for external requests as well as internal stakeholders. Collaborates with Accounting and HR to create payroll reports and forecasts. Trains and develops the payroll team to follow and administer payroll processes within the Company’s payroll/HRIS system. Will assist with the onboarding process for new hires including the development of applicable materials and policies.
Experience and Education
Has proven experience successfully leading the payroll function for a similar-sized organization using Ceridian Dayforce. Has lead and directed the work of other employees and has has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination. Experienced delegating and then managing payroll supervisors or a team of subordinate managers. Must have experience contributing to the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management. Experienced at establishing departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization. Understands the importance of the employee experience and customer service skills for interactions with employees. Strong preference for a bachelor's degree, appropriate payroll certification(s), and at least 10 years of payroll experience, including some prior management experience and hospitality industry experience.
