Position Overview: Upstate Elevator Supply Co. is looking for a strong operations executive to lead day-to-day operations at the Upstate Elevator/Green State Dispensary facility in Burlington, VT. This position is a key member of the executive team and will lead overall direction and strategic initiatives for our corporate headquarters. The Director of Operations should thrive in a start-up, fast-paced environment. Strong project management skills are required, with demonstrated success driving brand growth and operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Burlington corporate facility. Directly manage on site departments including Retail, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Compliance divisions.
• Work with the Executive Team to achieve sales and profit goals, including managing staffing and expense budgets. Assists in setting strategic goals and developing tactical plans that align with Upstate brand strategy.
• Assess current SOPs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensures staff are properly trained in partnership with management teams.
• Manages regulatory compliance for all business lines including Cultivation, Retail, and Wholesale. Maintains relationships with all state regulators/inspectors. Ensures managers across all business lines are experts in state and site regulatory requirements and can facilitate successfully passing state inspections. Manages regulatory recordkeeping and annual reporting.
• Partners with Supply Chain to improve inventory management procedures, ensuring negligible inventory shrinkage.
• Works with Sales and Marketing divisions to support brand promotions, events, merchandising, and new product launches in the Dispensary.
• Supervises and schedules Logistics including transfers and wholesale deliveries, prioritizing speedy delivery and compliance.
• Supports cash management functions in partnership with Accounting and Loss Prevention.
• Works collectively and respectfully with employees at all levels within the organization. Continuously improves the skills, knowledge and morale of all employees, creating an environment where the entire team does the same.
• Will be required to be on-call and to respond to emergency situations. This may include scheduling issues, potentially covering a vacant shift, facility issues and/or human resource requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Prior executive-level operations experience in a similar role. Consumer Packaged Good experience required; Cannabis or Alcohol industries preferred.
• Proven success building brands in fast-paced, highly-regulated, competitive environments.
• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in management, business, cost accounting or administration preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a natural aptitude for organization and systematization.
• Demonstrated ability to present and communicate effectively with executive management.
• Proven project and budget management experience with driven financial results.
• Ability to analyze data, interpret and apply legislation, develop systems and standard operating procedures, and manage risk based on data and statistics

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
