Location Description:
Hopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Responsibilities:
The Director of Maintenance and Asset Reliability provides Vision, Strategic Direction, and Leadership on Asset Reliability Strategy across the Integrated Supply Chain. This role will own the ARM pillar definition and execution as it relates to the overall MES (Michael Foods Executions System) design. This role is responsible for partnering with Senior leadership and Plant leadership to establish Operational Excellence through Asset Care Programs resulting in Plant Reliability. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and institutionalizing maintenance KPIs, education, training and development plan for technical resources. The role is required to provide visibility, engagement and regular communication updates to Corporate Senior leadership on the progress of Reliability Programs. Additionally, the Position provides on-site support, coaching, training and development to Plant Leadership Team and Technical Teams on proactive asset care that enables positive results in Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and Direct Manufacturing Expenses.
- Lead Corporate and Plant Asset Reliability resources to drive reliability in machines and production line performance across all the manufacturing Plants.
- Develop Comprehensive Asset Reliability playbook comprised of maintenance processes, and strategies across the manufacturing network by production platforms.
- Institutionalize the use of CMMS to track and report maintenance activities within Plants.
- Build Talent Pipeline for Maintenance through development programs and recruiting efforts by partnering with Corporate and Local HR teams.
- Deploy Operator Asset Care and Precision Maintenance training including but not limited to the development of training curriculum, training materials, and formal training for mechanics and operators.
- Create, Define, and Track key performance indicators in accordance with the Best Maintenance Practices to improvement Plant performance.
- Develop Effective Proactive Maintenance strategies for Critical Equipment based on Asset criticality and Parts criticality by partnering with Regional Reliability Specialist
- Leverage Time-based Maintenance, Predictive / Conditional-based Maintenance, Operator Asset Care and Precision Maintenance that are designed to combat inherent reliability problems.
- Perform and Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), RCM2 Analysis for critical equipment and/or FMECA (Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analysis) for unreliable assets based on economic evaluation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an Accredited University or equivalent technical experience
- Proven experience in organizational formation and advancement of service-minded teams.
- CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or member of SMRP (Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals)
- Experience as Corporate Reliability Leader and/or Asset Care Consultant and Plant Leadership is required
- Must be competent in RCM Practitioner skills and RCFA Methodology to identify the casual factors for component, equipment or system failures
- Must have Continuous Improvement/Change Management Experience (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, TPM, RCA)
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Rotating Equipment, Reliability, Maintenance or Engineering roles
- Applied knowledge of RCM2 (Reliability Centered Maintenance) practices.
- Development, and Implementing experience of Predictive Technology and Precision Maintenance. Certified in Predictive Technology is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of API, ASME, and ANSI specs/standards, specifically API 610/682/686 (Certifications is an added advantage)
- Demonstrated use of SAP as an effective computerized maintenance management tool
- Working knowledge of pumps, blowers, compressors and packaging equipment design including fabrication, operation, repair, failure analysis and reliability improvement
- Ability to travel up to 50% to other Sites and drive solutions to complex technical issues.
- Computer Systems: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio); Reliability Software (Wiebul Analysis, RCM, Mechanical Integrity Software)
- Corrosion Protection to control the corrosion of metal surfaces through materials selection and Cathodic Protection preferred
