JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for creating and leading Early Learning Indiana’s (ELI) business intelligence function and driving organizational data-driven decision-making. This role will work closely with senior leaders across the organization, providing insight and analytical rigor in support of strategic and operational decision-making. This role will also design thoughtful approaches to infusing analytics in the fabric of ELI across all levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes and executes a vision for the delivery of information and analytics solutions for ELI’s key stakeholders, including senior leaders, functional leads, team members and external partners and stakeholders
- Coordinates and prioritizes business intelligence reporting needs across functions in support of ELI’s strategic framework
- Partners with the IT team to continuously monitor and improve ELI’s data integrity and quality
- Develops strong relationships with senior leaders and key functional managers, delivering data-driven recommendations, insights and guidance
- Oversees and produces reporting, self-service capabilities and data visualization solutions to support strategic decision-making
- Leverages analytics to identify internal/operational and external environment issues impacting ELI’s ability to deliver on its mission and proactively relays those issues to the attention of relevant business owners; partners to create solutions and monitor progress
- Develops training and communications plans to embed analytics across all levels of the organization
- Develops and maintains consistent business terms and definitions and business intelligence policies and procedures, including overall data governance
- Stays current on existing and emerging BI technologies and solutions and evaluates opportunities for ELI
- Manages vendor relationships, contracts and project delivery
- Fully understands the data structures, capabilities, limitations of ELI data sources; owns the quality control for the report output
- Performs quality checks and validation to ensure information delivered from BI solutions is defect-free; ensures all reported data and information is accurate, consistent, relevant and timely
- Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Early Learning Indiana.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
An individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analysis, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field required
- 5+ years’ experience in business analytics, strategic consulting or other related fields
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, MySQL, and/or Salesforce preferred
