Cygnus Technologies, a Maravai LifeSciences company is seeking a Director, Manufacturing Operations to join our growing team. The Director, Manufacturing Operations will oversee the formulation and manufacturing processes. This position works directly with the Process Excellence team to design efficient layouts of equipment and flow of materials. The Director, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for ensuring manufacturing performance, volume, and quality goals are met by utilizing efficient methods, staffing and management of key talent, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Description of Duties:

• Provide strategic leadership for manufacturing function by defining strategy and roadmap for investment in people, process, and infrastructure to scalable support rapid business growth
• Partner with internal and external teams to scale and improve existing products, and transfer new products from development into manufacturing
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement of business processes in manufacturing
• Manage assigned departmental budget and allocate resources per company objectives
• Mentor and engage floor management and employees to drive performance, accountability, and satisfaction across the teams
• Drive improvements in manufacturing service levels to both internal and external customers
• Critically review the performance of the products to insure appropriate performance over time
• Oversee the successful technical transfer of newly developed products from R&D to manufacturing
• Ensure that operations meet all quality objectives in line with company operating priorities
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environments laws and regulations, engaging all associates to make quality and safety a priority
• Perform other functions and duties as required

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering or related field
• Minimum 10 years relevant operations/manufacturing experience in a life science industry
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards (or ISO 13485) or in a FDA/equivalent regulated setting (GMP/GLP) required
• Experience with ELISA assays, purification techniques, specialized formulation, and production of life science reagents or similar laboratory application
• Good working knowledge of advanced laboratory techniques and applications
• Strong leadership and emotional intelligence skills, capable coach, and mentor
• Experience with NetSuite ERP and MasterControl a plus
• Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proven change agent, able to communicate priorities in a growth-focused environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills applied to investigations
• Self-motivated and able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to identify quality issues/discrepancies and effectively resolve discrepancies within the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
