Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential and community living services, clinical services, and a vocational day program for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia, and other cognitive disorders. We are looking for a Direct Support II staff to help ensure the efficient operation of our Foothill and Somerset programs.

Foothill and Somerset are 4-5 bedroom enhanced behavioral support homes located in Santa Barbara and Goleta, CA, designed to provide care for adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders who may have additional medical or behavioral health concerns. The primary goal is to have individuals live in a welcoming learning environment that helps them lead productive, happy, and engaged lives within the broader community.

Responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional II include, but are not limited to:

• Utilizing positive reinforcement and antecedent manipulation to increase appropriate behaviors
• Assisting and supporting in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of adults served
• Assisting, instructing, and supporting individuals with daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, bill pay, grocery shopping, and personal hygiene
• Accompanying individuals on community outings, medical appointments, and other activities, as directed
• Must be willing to work with individuals with challenging and/or aggressive behaviors

General Shifts:

• Days: 6am-2pm (Foothill), 7-3am (Somerset)
• Afternoons: 2pm-10pm (Foothill), 3-11pm (Somerset)
• Overnights: 10pm-6am (Foothill), 11pm-7am (Somerset)
• One weekend shift per week required

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
• One (1) year of experience providing direct care to adults with developmental disabilities required
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required

Must have or be willing to obtain upon hire:

• Direct Support Professional Year 1 Certification by the State of California
• Direct Support Professional Year 2 Certification by the State of California
• Registered Behavioral Technician Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
