About the position: The Digital Marketing Specialist will lead our traffic driving efforts in the online space. This role will develop, implement, track and optimize our digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels, as well as develop and lead a robust email campaign strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies, to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. The Digital Marketing Specialist will work with the larger internal eCommerce and marketing teams, merchandising team, external agencies, and other vendor partners to launch campaigns on time and on budget.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of our digital marketing department including strategy, mobile, web, e-commerce, email, display advertising campaigns, re-targeting, SEO, PPC through understanding how our prospective and existing customers, as well as internal teams, engage with our brand digitally.
- Develop, manage and execute an email marketing calendar across all email tiers including timing, cadence, promotional and segmentation plans.
- Analyze campaign performance of all digital marketing channels to ensure each is meeting its KPI and ROI objectives.
- Grow customer acquisition efforts and ROI through continuous optimization, testing and experimenting with ad creatives, bid strategies, audience targeting, placements, etc.
- Identify growth opportunities and implement initiatives to further increase market-share.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to architect digital experiences that align with marketing goals.
- Communicate regularly with management on digital marketing strategy and prepare detailed campaign reports with key findings.
- Assist in building landing pages to support digital marketing campaigns.
- Troubleshoot account issues and recommend solutions.
- Assist with planning of the website updates for all marketing campaign.
- Grow email list and maintain retention by managing deliverability, contact frequency and content.
- Analyze and interpret email campaign performance, and leverage insights to make proactive recommendations.
- Manage all aspect of the digital budget.
- Create and execute email A/B and multivariate testing.
- Provide email marketing thought leadership: strong understanding of best in class email marketing, new tools and software, and desire/ability to create a best in class program.
- Maintain a strong understanding of CAN-SPAM and email regulations across all relevant regions.
- Serve as a key liaison between the brand and email service provider and other relevant vendors by providing guidance on strategic priorities, channel objectives, and business goals.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or relevant field.
- Knowledge of tag management; understanding tags needed to manage digital campaigns; troubleshoot tag issues.
- 2+ years’ experience in digital marketing and email management.
- Experience running digital campaigns, tracking and optimizing for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ability to develop and manage digital marketing strategy and tactics.
- Ability to meet deadlines, must be comfortable prioritizing tasks, demonstrate flexibility, display a strong work ethic, fanatical attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
- Innovative and creative thinker; proactively identifies opportunities; motivated by challenge, change and opportunity to help Hartville Hardware look at things differently and understand emerging trends.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously, and work as a team.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy and best practice.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience managing PPC, SEO, email marketing, and affiliate programs.
- Analytical thinker who can focus on details.
- Knowledge of ESPs, Google Analytics, Google Ads and Adobe Illustrator.
- Self-motivated.
- Able to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
