As the Digital Content Marketing Program Manager your primary focus is aimed at defining and managing the online/virtual delivery of VMware Explore content (recorded sessions, simu-live and live). This includes both the “moment in time” event as well as ongoing content marketing strategy.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • The primary objective of this position is to manage how, where and what we deliver when it comes to VMware Explore online content. VMware Explore delivers over 800 sessions onsite at the physical events (US and Europe) and those sessions are recorded and hosted in an online library. The job of this individual will be to strategize and execute on a marketing plan to amplify the rich content produced both during the physical event dates (manage the hybrid/online offering) and in an ongoing promotional cycle. This role will also need to curate what the digital-only offering at VMware Explore will look like and program manage that execution.
  • You will need to orchestrate a year-round content delivery strategy through effective collaboration, leadership, and understanding of VMware’s strategic priorities. You will work closely with key stakeholders on the events team (content team and operations team) as well as broader VMware teams (demand execution, IT, shared services teams).
  • You will be expected to be the subject matter expert when it comes to digital event delivery and ongoing amplification.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Define and manage the digital delivery of event content as it pertains to VMware’s flagship event, VMware Explore
  • Develop and execute an always-on campaign related to digital content created at and for VMware’s flagship event, VMware Explore
  • Spearhead creative ideation to re-package event content in a way that extends the reach and “life” of the digital content
  • Familiarize and become a power-user on various digital content delivery platforms (ex. Zoom Events, Brightcove, Kaltura)
  • Build cross-functional relationships with the event content team, event operations team and global demand teams
  • Establish KPIs and track to the goals set out by the larger program team
  • Experience working on online or hybrid events
  • Budget management experience a plus
  • Must have a firm grasp of marketing tactics, channels, the demand cycle and content marketing.

The manager for this position is Nikki Sherin. Nikki has led the marketing efforts for VMware’s flagship event for almost 8 years. She has a strong strategic marketing and event program management background. Nikki believes in leading with empathy and creating an environment of psychological safety for her team. She manages 3 other event marketers on the global events team.

Where is this role located?

Remote: this role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in the USA, preferably on an east coast or central time zone.
