Job description
The primary purpose of this position is to complete duties assigned to provide accurate, timely food service to meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Responsibilities And Major Duties:
Handle, prepare and serve food in a sanitary manner.
Set up trays and food service carts accurately and timely.
Serve and bus trays.
Pour and cover beverages.
Assist in preparing, covering and labeling food
Assist in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
Ensure food service equipment is in and is kept in good working order.
Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments.
Attend in-service training programs for dietary employees.
Observe infection control procedures.
Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
Adhere to all facility policies & procedures.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Dietary Manager and/or person of authority.
Position Qualifications:
Previous food service experience, preferably a long-term care facility.
Ability to read/write/comprehend in English.
Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally.
Provide services based on physician orders.
Works regularly with some information such as medical records or reports, financial reports, information on computer screens or other electronic devices, and records that are restricted to specific persons.
Must comply with confidentiality policy.
