Diesel Technician - Shop Manager in Training - West Chester, OH

Kirk NationaLease is a privately owned, full-service truck/trailer leasing and maintenance company, and we are currently looking for a Shop Manager for our West Chester, OH location.

We have started a new Shop Manager development program! If you're an experienced diesel technician with at least 5+ years of hands on tractor/trailer repair, have leadership qualities to motivate your team, and want to grow with a company as a shop manager in training, we want to hear from you in 2023!

Because our shop managers are working managers, this gives the right candidate the opportunity to show their skill level while learning the 'Kirk' way of doing things. While performing mechanic duties, shop manager training will be filtered into the daily process. This will allow the candidate to create good shop manager habits while developing their manager/leader skills. Once all training has been successfully completed, the candidate will then take over the duties of shop manager.

Our thought process on starting this program is that there are a lot of great mechanics out there that have little to no management experience. This will allow the right person to hone in on their mechanic skills while learning how to be an effective manager.

The Shop Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the shop as a business unit. The Shop Manager will plan, direct, and control all by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates: Equipment Repairs, Preventative Maintenance, Parts Management, Daily Rentals, Personnel Administration, and General Management (including P&L Management). To qualify for this program, the applicants must have 5+ years of recent Heavy Diesel/Fleet Maintenance hands on experience from a reputable shop and have the desire and ability to grow into a management role.
