Summary of essential job functions
This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager
- 1st shift working hours
- Maintain work area in a present clean, safe, and orderly appearance.
- Daily yard check
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical malfunctions
- Diagnose and repair foundation brakes
- Diagnose and repair electrical and lighting systems
- Repairs, on a minor and or emergency basis, parts of bodies, i.e., doors, landing gear etc.
- Performs preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis per lead tech/shop manager ensuring all DOT requirements are met
- Perform quality control spot checks on repairs
- Review repair orders for completeness and accuracy ensuring 3 C’s are used, parts are billed and unit information is accurate.
- Test equipment and systems for performance
- Inspect shop tooling and PPE for deficiencies and cleanliness
- Ensure all safety policies are being followed. LOTO, EHS etc.

Minimum requirements
- Ability to communicate tactfully and courteously with business management employees, Suppliers, Drivers, Mechanics, and all other internal/external customers. Must have strong technical knowledge of Class 8 tractors and diesel engines.
- Ability to plan and organize work. Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, analyze data, and meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to take a teamwork approach to the job by cooperating with others, offering to help others when needed, and considering larger organization or team goals rather than individual concerns. Includes the ability to build a constructive team spirit where team members are committed to the goals and objectives of the team.
- TMT experience a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and multi-task
- Willing to obtain a CDL . additional pay allowed if achieved
