JOB SUMMARY
A Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Service Technician inspects, diagnoses and repairs diesel-powered vehicles and trailers.
To be considered for this opportunity you must have:
- Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
- Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
- A valid driver’s license
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
LOCATION
Sioux Falls, SD
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Successful candidate must have experience and/or training in diesel mechanics.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Run diagnostic tests on vehicles.
2. Identify problem(s).
3. Make necessary repairs.
4. Test drive the vehicle to determine if properly fixed the maintenance issue.
