The DevOps Engineer will provide hands on technical support for managing existing AWS infrastructure, creating new systems, and assist in migrating a large-scale web and database platform from a client hosted data center to the AWS Cloud.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain existing and create new CloudFormation Templates.
- Deploy infrastructure as code to a cloud environment using a CI/CD Pipeline.
- Automating the provisioning of software configuration with Ansible and deploying environments using containers, like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Scripting vulnerability remediation in a Linux environment to conform to FISMA controls.
- Participating in the Agile DevOps design, development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features.
- Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- Required Security Clearance: Top Secret.
- At least 4-6 years of professional experience in IT, IT services or tech consulting work.
- Command Line Linux experience.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
- Hands on experience with the core AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, RDS.
- Experience working with AWS CLI and/or AWS SDK.
- An understanding of infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, and orchestration.
- Experience with Linux System Administration and shell scripting.
- Experience working with Docker containers and Kubernetes container orchestration.
- 2+ years working with AWS.
- Experience with SQL Database Queries.
- Desire to learn and grow in the field of infrastructure automation.
Working Conditions:
Work is typically based in a busy office environment (virtual) and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.
Physical Requirements:
May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
Background Screening/Check/Investigation:
Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
