Salary Range: $42,397.74-$42,397.74

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Dental Assistant will be responsible for providing dental assistant support in the teaching clinics at the College of Dental Medicine

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Dental Assistant incudes, but not limited to:

Assist at chair side as required (four-handed dentistry)

Aid in preparation and maintenance of materials, instruments and equipment

Pour models.

Maintain student and patient records.

Order and dispense supplies and instruments.

Maintain clinic inventory.

Perform all required duties to comply with infection control measures.

Complete administrative tasks as needed.

Provide cross coverage for other clinical areas, clinic module areas, and radiology.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of college or a completed A.A. program

One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience

Formal training in four-handed dentistry, sit-down dental assisting and six months of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from a dental assistant program preferred.

Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred, including translation.

BLS certification

Other Requirements

Experience in a dental office and chair side assisting and dental x-rays required.

Knowledge of dental terminology required.
