Data Scientist Lead - Platform

In order to continue to scale our fast-growing team, we are seeking a Data Scientist Lead who has a passion for data, machine learning, and thrives in high growth environments.

Role

As our customer base and labor pool continue to grow, so do our data and data science needs. The goal of our data science team is to lead the utilization of data to further optimize the on-demand labor marketplace and build next level tools to increase the platform capability and improve user experience. The Data Science Lead will serve as the leader of Veryable’s data science team, overseeing the data analysis and working with peers across the organization to increase platform performance.

The ideal candidate for this role is an effective communicator and a highly-motivated self-starter. This person should have hands-on experience working with large data sets, finding the best ways to design data for developing critical KPI metrics, algorithms, and predictive models. This is a full-time role, based in Dallas, Texas. We believe strongly in collaboration and we rely on in-office, in-person dynamics to ensure we can all move at a high pace with efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Drive the evolution of the data science capabilities to match the growing needs of the Veryable platform and its users to solve strategic and tactical problems

• Collaborate with platform leaders to define data science use cases and articulate the required development to deliver the needed capability aligned to business strategy

• Create the needed algorithms and predictive models to lead and support the intelligence capability of the Veryable platform while incorporating machine learning as necessary

• Execute exploratory data analysis

• Enhance and maintain the data intelligence tool and capabilities to inform analysis and create insights from the available data and information

• Lead and grow team members through mentorship, technical instruction, and guidance, making sure they are deployed efficiently against the platform team’s top priorities

• Document and promote standard methodologies and best practices for data science across Veryable

• Process mining of transactional platform business data to derive insights

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Domo

• 5+ years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Strong experience with regression models and machine learning

• Experience with data modeling and engineering
