Job description
Contribute to the efficient operation of the department by performing data entry functions and related support services.
1. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of data by operating data entry station, processor and printer, transmitting data via telephone, and reporting equipment failures to appropriate staff.
2. Assist with the processing of patient charges by preparing, entering and verifying data from source documents following generally standardized procedures.
3. Assist with providing timely information to designated staff by decollating and distributing daily, weekly and monthly data reports.
4. Assist with maintaining accurate records by preparing and balancing data logs and control reports for audit.
5. Assist in maintaining the smooth flow of correspondence and documentation through typing from rough drafts, typing of complex reports/charts and/or typing information requiring use of technical/medical terminology.
6. Ensure prompt attention is given to individual inquiries by routing of telephone calls to appropriate staff, answering routine informational questions, running errands and delivering messages as requested.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or GED.
Licensure: None.
Experience: One (1) year data entry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
