Purpose

To maintain completely accurate, up-to-date prices, computer records and accurate shelf tags for all departments. Provide support to Merchandising Manager and Scanning Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Point of Sale & Data Maintenance

· Accurately and in a timely manner, enter new product information into the Point of Sale (POS)

· Promptly address and correct urgent issues including price corrections, products that do not scan and or price adjustments

· Organize, implement, and refine a system of planned price changes including a system for departments to submit planned changes in advance, the period of adjustment and price verification.

· Identify discontinued products

· Enter and revise information regarding coupons and other discounts.

· Maintain all PLU lists.

· Maintain records of price changes, new items and promotions.

· Manage the interface with the scales network. Routinely audit all scale data.

· Participate in Inventory as needed.

Tags & Signage

· Produce and insure prompt placement of shelf tags and other appropriate signage for new products, repositioned products, and products on sale

· Produce and insure prompt placement of new shelf tags for permanent price changes and other identifier changes.

· Spot check shelf tags throughout the store on a rotation basis. Research and correct any discrepancies between shelf tags and scanner prices.

Other Duties

· Audit their own work performed daily.

· Cross train with the Inventory Control Receiver to perform that position as needed.

· Help receive the UNFI truck as needed.

· Commit daily Invoices to Point of Sales System.

· Regular and routine communication with Merchandising Manager and Operations Manager regarding ongoing promotions, questions, and concerns.

· Produce reports and records for effective decision making, accurate financial reports and precise inventory.

· Provides a high level of customer service by responding quickly and courteously to customers and co-workers.

Job Qualifications

· Six Months of data entry experience

· Six Months of high-level responsibility in Excel, accounting, inventory, or operations, preferably in retail environment, with Point of sale experience preferred.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, margins, proportions, percentages, weights, and measures. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

· High School diploma or GED

· Ability to solve problems and create user friendly processes.

· Ability to adapt and explore new techniques.

· Ability to frequently be able to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands or arms. Climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Repetitive wrist and hand movements (typing, etc.) reaching, bending, and sitting.

· Vision corrected to enable reading of small print, to be able to accurately compare letters, numbers, objects, pictures, patterns, and to distinguish colors.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Professional communication skills – gives clear instructions, good listener.

General Qualifications

· Regular, predictable attendance with ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.

· Written and spoken English proficiency

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.50 - $16.00 per hour
