Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Cybersecurity Director in Anchorage, Alaska. Our company is searching for an experienced person who can develop and lead BSNC’s cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will establish, plan, and administer policies, goals, and procedures.
To be successful in this position you will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of auditing computer and software systems.
Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Information Security staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, and monitoring performance.
- Develop personal growth opportunities.
- Deliver strategic plans to ensure alignment with corporate strategic goals and cybersecurity requirements.
- Participate in the annual IT budget planning processes and ensuring cost effectiveness.
- Effectively manage Information Security budget.
- Prepare financial forecasts for security operations.
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
- Manage vulnerabilities, threats, and risk.
- Lead security investigations.
- Audit user and computer compliance.
- Provide direction for cybersecurity and governance.
- Develop security awareness programs, security architecture and incident response.
- Bachelor’ Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years' experience in cybersecurity, data protection and privacy, IT risk management, regulatory compliance
- Certified Information Security Manager or Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- Demonstrated management skills.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

- Hires and supervises direct reports.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
