Green Mountain Power is seeking two skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Analysts to join its expanding Security Operations Team. Successful candidates will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating security risks, developing and implementing security solutions, and providing triage and support services during security incidents.

Responsibilities

As a member of the GMP SecOps Team, you will:

• 
  Conduct security assessments and risk analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Monitor network traffic, security and event logs, and other security systems, in order to gather details on and assist in recovering from incidents and events.
• Apply forensic analysis techniques and methods to understand root cause and other details associated with cyber attacks
• Using sophisticated tool sets, test new systems and environments for vulnerabilities
• Prepare reports on security incidents and aid in sharing lessons-learned with teammates and employees.
• Participate in the operation of the Company's SOC.

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience working within an enterprise-scale computing environment
• Strong knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP theory, the OSI model, as well as Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems
• A broad understanding of security technologies including, firewalls, SIEMs, AV, IDS, Identity, encryption, and other monitoring and analysis tools and protocols
• Proficiency working with Splunk is a plus
• A keen ability to search and hunt for threats, spotlight vulnerabilities, and propose remediation steps is desirable

• Excellent spoken and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with employees across the company.
• Preferred candidates will possess prior training/certifications such as, SANS, CISSP, CEH, CIH, CISM, GIAC Security Essentials, a degree in information security or IT, and/or equivalent training and experience in a security-focused role.
