This position is aimed at providing technical support for the AMEC Region for base for our particle size analyzer instruments. Its goal is to ensure the highest customer satisfaction by proactively supporting the local Service Engineers enabling them to fully resolve customers’ issues throughout the region. To achieve this, superior interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
The position will require a presence both remotely and/or on-site during repair, maintenance, and commissioning of particle size instruments as needed. The Technical Specialist will work closely with members of the local customer support teams and the Supply Center group to ensure a seamless and superior customer experience.
Initial training requirements will include 2 to 3 visits abroad at the Supply Center in conjunction with trips to commissioning sites with more experienced service engineers.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities after the training period:
Actively monitors installation base using customer relationship management software and other means.
- Communicates with CSEs to support troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Support CSEs with escalated issues
- Maintains procedures to assist CSEs to accelerate the troubleshooting and problem resolution process.
- Reports weekly on Regional Escalations
- Interacts with customers as required.
- Performs on-site visits AMEC-wide when required.
- Seen by the service team and credibly by the customer as the technical expert for our particle size instruments.
- Provide application support to customers and CSE’s along the region.
- Customer communications, on a daily basis communicates verbally with customers at all levels. Frequently may need to do so in writing.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- BS/BA or AAS Electronic Technology or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a field service environment.
- Previous experience of servicing automation/control cabinets, including electronic and pneumatic devices.
- Knowledge of general industrial communication protocols and standards (OPC, Serial RS232/485, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
- General knowledge of automation and computer/networking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and willingness to be flexible.
- Knowledge of analytical instrumentation.
- Current, full driving license.
- Good at problem Solving / troubleshooting Analysis.
- Resourceful and Pragmatic.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese would be a plus.
