POSITION SUMMARY:
In this temporary position, the candidate will have two major projects: 1) develop syllabi for a new undergraduate program, and 2) work with departments with specialized accreditations in NYPISHS to develop a series of assessment documents that can be used to collect outcomes information from students and alumni. This information will be used by program coordinators to prepare annual reports required for accreditation and self-study reports.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curriculum development
- The expectation will be a complete syllabus including course description, learning outcomes, rubrics and assignments, and a topical outline for six courses. A syllabus template for an Iona undergraduate class will be provided.
- Preparation of curriculum documentation for state approval.
- Accreditation processes development
- Creation of assessment documents for five accredited programs in NYPISHS. and development of timeline for annual survey delivery
- Work with chairs/program directors of NYPISHS accredited programs to determine optimal methods to regularly collect student learning outcomes data on a regular basis.
- Develop Qualtrics surveys to assess program metrics
- Implement a schedule to send out surveys of accreditation program needs.
- Work with Iona University’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning to develop timelines for collection of university data for all accredited NYPISHS programs.
Requirements:
- PhD required
- Experience teaching courses at the bachelor's level, graduate level is preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working with college level accreditation programs
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing curriculum in health education, health promotion courses
