POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time position in the Office of Executive Investigations, reporting to the Professional Standards Unit, Customer Service Section. This position coordinates the receipt, response and tracking of customer service complaints and correspondences to individuals and/or agencies requesting assistance from FDLE in accordance with the Florida Customer Service Standards Act and Agency policy.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researching, reviewing, and recommending appropriate action to resolve complaints;
- Properly documenting complaints, referral documents and correspondence in an efficient and error free fashion;
- Receiving incoming calls to the Office of Executive Investigations; and
- Assisting Crime Intelligence Analysts with the management of background/public corruption and professional standards investigations by compiling, analyzing, verifying, coordinating and reporting case related information.
To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or in a law enforcement agency can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
- Any combination of the experience as described above, vocational/technical training in the area of law enforcement, or college course work from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter, or 720 classroom hours per year for the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems;
- Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;
- Ability to conduct fact finding research;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
- Knowledge of report writing, research and intelligence analysis techniques; and
- Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in various Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access.
STARTING SALARY:
Crime Intelligence Analyst I
$36,468.02 – Bachelor’s degree*
Crime Intelligence Analyst II
$38,146.42 – Bachelor’s degree* and one year of law enforcement analytical** experience.
Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst I
$42,206.00 – Bachelor’s degree* and three years of law enforcement analytical** experience.
Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II
$49,043.00 – Bachelor’s degree* and five years of law enforcement analytical** experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of law enforcement intelligence analysis or a professional certificate in law enforcement intelligence analysis may be substituted for one year of law enforcement analytical experience.
- A master’s degree in criminology, law enforcement intelligence analysis, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis or comparable discipline; or a professional certificate in one of these disciplines can substitute for one year of experience.
**Analytical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year- for-year basis. Analytical experience must be in the fields of: criminal intelligence, military intelligence, crime analysis or investigative experience in a law enforcement agency.

SPECIAL NOTES:
- Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating strong skills in critical thinking; analytical research and interpretation; developing and delivering presentations and training to internal FDLE members, as well as, other law enforcement agencies throughout Florida. - As a member of a law enforcement agency, during any critical incident or disaster (both natural and man-made), these positions may be designated as an essential service position for a given period. During this time, you may be required to work after normal business hours, during office closures, or during weekends and/or holidays when needed.

BACKGROUND:
FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. NOTES:
Salary for these positions will be commensurate with experience and training but are typically filled at the minimum of the class pay range unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy guidelines. Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
