Overview:
This position is 40 hours per 2-week period on the day/evening shift. This position is a benefit eligible position!
The Cook is responsible for preparing food items as assigned, using standardized recipes, to meet established standards of high quality. This is a position where you will be able to acquire experience and knowledge, in a fast paced team environment, where customer service and food service skills are appreciated. Cook - UMMC staff are given the opportunity to directly influence the patient, guest, and staff experience by preparing and serving the food that sustains everyone through their healing or their work. There is phenomenal opportunity to work together on a team of engaged employees! This position offers the availability to cross-train in different areas!

Fairview Health Services is looking for a Cook on the
University Campus (East Bank) in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. Do you have a love and passion for food? Here at M-Health Fairview we put love and care into every plate that we serve. Our passion to prepare and serve food extends beyond the kitchen. Prepares and serves hot and cold foods for all customers using standardized recipes and accurate food handling techniques.

Week 1
Monday: 3:30pm-8:30pm
Tuesday: 10am-6:30pm
Saturday: 1pm-8:30pm
Sunday: 1pm-8:30pm
Week 2:
Thursday: 10am-6:30pm
Friday: 3:30pm-8:30pm

Responsibilities:
- Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards.
- Follows standardized recipes weighing and measuring ingredients to assure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value.
- Assemble food within appropriate time frames.
- Handle and prepare food in safe manner following HACCP standardized operating procedures.
- Takes and documents temperatures of food items and makes appropriate adjustments to achieve standards.
- Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedure.
- Takes responsibility for self and others in work area.
- Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
Required Experience:
- 1-3 years of cook experience
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to communicate both verbally, and in writing, using English
- Must be able to handle all foods, under all conditions.
- Basic math skills.
Preferred Education:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D
