Café team members will be responsible for providing industry leading hospitality and food service at the Community Café inside a large corporate office building located at 3500 Lacey Rd, Downers Grove IL. The Café will operate Monday-Friday and will be responsible for all food production and service during lunch hours. • Food and beverage services throughout building
• Food stations during lunch hours
• A large variety of grab-and-go items

Cook Responsibilities

• Provide industry leading gracious hospitality
• Welcome guests with a smile, take orders and offer menu knowledge as needed while cooking and serving fresh, delicious food
• Assist manager in developing a team of food safety champions through team collaboration to ensure all food safety/HACCP systems and standards are strictly adhered to and executed daily
• Safely and efficiently use sharp knife in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Follow and execute prep recipes that may require skills including but not limited to; chopping, grilling, sautéing and frying
• Prepare and package grab-and-go items
• Critically taste food to ensure consistency and accuracy of food production
• Clean, set-up and break down stations
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized and stocked work area
• Assist putting daily deliveries away accurately, rotate stock in cooler, freezer and dry storage area using the First In-First Out method while monitoring shelf life and code dates
• Maintain high standards by following all company standard operating procedures
• Wash, rinse and sanitize items used in kitchen, beverage area and dining room
• Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• At least 18 years of age
• Illinois Food Handler certification
• Experience working in a fast-paced, fun environment
• Hard-working, reliable and a great team player
• Guest focused, friendly, engaging and constantly learning
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length
• Must be able to communicate in and read and understand English
• Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodation
