As a Controls Technician at our facilities in Mansfield, MA, and East Providence, RI, you will be working in a hands-on manufacturing position that offers a challenging work environment where independence and creative thinking are the norm. This position will provide the opportunity to work on project conceptions, project quotation, control systems engineering, and technical support that will ensure the long term technical health, integrity, and performance of the plant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Troubleshoot electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications

· Check quality of assemblers and technicians work and respond to inquiries during assembly or repairs

· Understand plant requirements for GUI/communication interface, HMI, and networking

· Review, repair, and redesign legacy code as needed

· Troubleshoot issues with existing company installed systems

· Write user manuals to communicate functionality of company developed programs as required

· Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings when needed

· Research supplier products for assembly components

· Develop electrical bill of materials

QUALIFICATIONS / OTHER REQUIREMENTS

· BS degree in engineering or related discipline or relevant industry experience.

· 5+ years of experience in controls or automation (preferred, required if non-degreed candidate)

· Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc)

· Configuring and designing HMI systems (e.g. Allen Bradley, Red Lion, Wonderware, etc)

· Experience with various Motion Controllers/Actuators/Drives (e.g. AB, Yasakawa, etc) preferred

· Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others, and have a positive attitude

· Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines

· Ability to manage and learn new technology

· Flexibility to work after hours and some weekend and holidays if needed

· Ability to perform hands on repairs, electrical and mechanical
