Job description
The Controller maintains the financial activities, prepares the financial reports and summaries, and creates forecasts for future growth of The Homeless Coalition and Fabulous Finds Re-sale Shop. The Controller works with the CEO to develop and oversee the foundation’s growth as well as maintain the Foundation’s financials.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and annual audits.
- Prepares and submits payroll.
- Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Reviews the planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
- Works with the CEO and both Board of Directors to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
- Identifies opportunities for expansion.
- Manages the Capital assets and budgeting process.
- Develops and maintains the employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefit package.
- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.
- Prepares and inputs general ledger entries Prepares and performs monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintains necessary licenses and permits for compliance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent management skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in database and accounting (QuickBooks) computer application systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in finance required, bachelor’s in administrative or financial management in lieu of experience.
- Minimum of five years of bookkeeping experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
