Overview:
As a member of the Marketing Team, the Copywriter will research, write and edit copy related to hunting, fishing, camping, grilling and other outdoor adventure categories. Content will be written for a variety of mediums (including print, PR/events, social media, TV, video, and radio scripts), collaborating across teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging. The copywriter should have a sharp eye for detail, strong project management abilities, and contribute new and creative ideas to compliment marketing strategies.

- Collaborate across internal teams and vendors to produce engaging, on-brand copy for the outdoors space which includes hunting, fishing, camping, grilling and other outdoor adventure categories.
- Proactively conduct research to gather authentic information through interviews and content exploration.
- Assist with development of programming content and assist with production planning for the What's Cookin' Series
- Work collaboratively with leadership to build campaign messaging and assist with overall campaign planning. Work with E-commerce content writers on SEO strategies.
- Research and understand SCHEELS customers to create customer-centric copy to support all teams including print, PR/events, social media, and TV, video, and radio scripts.
- Ensure all copy, either new copy or proofreading copy from other associates, reflects SCHEELS brand voice, works to achieve campaign goals while meeting deadlines.
- Assist with Creative Media campaign video and photo sessions as requested
- Other duties that may be assigned by leadership
- Ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Communication, English, Journalism or related field
- Prefer 2 years of relevant work experience in creating copy
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Schedule:
Must be flexible to work between 8a.m. and 5p.m., Monday through Friday, with some evenings and weekends as needed averaging 40 hours per week
