Summary/ Objective:
Overall accountability for the growth of the Plan Spec Construction Market in Eastern PA. Lead and direct the Construction department to meet or exceed sales revenue, sales profitability, and budgetary objectives. Specifically, responsible for strategic planning, leadership, selling, leveraging technology, and improving processes for the Construction Solutions Team. This role is a member of the SYD Management Group.
Essential Functions:
- Be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies
- Demonstrate proven ability to develop and maintain strong supplier and customer relationships
- Responsible for corporate vendor positioning and sales performance for lighting, gear, product categories
- Provide overall leadership for all direct reports
- Monitor specialist, vendor, and customer profitability
- Coach, develop, and support pricing strategies that drive margin improvement
- Make sales calls, quote projects to and service your target accounts
- Oversee and guide or quote the large high profile and most important projects in SC the territory
- Utilize reporting and business metrics to drive sales and increase profits
- Create annual goals and annual sales objectives for specialist
- Manage specialist target account spreadsheet and use it to continue to grow the customer base
- Explore and determine new services and solutions to better serve the Construction market
- Effectively identify customer opportunities and develop relationships with top customers throughout the region
- Explore and determine best practices for all processes within the team
- Partner with others and strategize on resource allocation and vendor alignment across all territories/branches, as needed
- Collaborate and communicate with ESMG and Territory Managers on vendor strategy

Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position is a supervisory role and the following roles report directly to the VP of Construction:
- Power Distribution Specialist
- Lighting Specialist
- Construction Coordinator
- Construction Admin
Work Environment:
This job operates primarily in an office setting with the balance of the time split between visiting various job sites, customer sites, branches/warehouses, and attending meetings. This position requires using standard office equipment such as computers, internet, smartphones, and photocopiers. The Construction Solutions Manager will occasionally be required to visit projects on various construction sites. When at job sites you may be exposed to varying temperature conditions depending on the location of the job site and associated weather.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have:
- the ability to stand, walk for moderately long distances, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weight up to 50lbs
- Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Travel:
Some overnight travel is required and the employee can reasonably expect on average 15-20% overnight travel to meet the demands of the position. Should travel be required a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for this position.
Clearances and Certifications:
- Various clearances will be required. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Previous sales and leadership experience required, 6 or more years preferred
- Construction market knowledge preferred
