Job Summary
The Construction Planner/ Buyer is responsible for providing hybrid office and field-based logistics and supply-chain support for storage tank construction and repair projects.
This position oversees the planning, selection, and dispatch of personnel, materials, subcontractors, and equipment. A strong understanding of construction project management, a high degree of organization, strong communication skills, and exceptional administrative skills are required to succeed in this role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain quotes and issuing purchase orders, work orders, and subcontracts.
- Ensure the timely delivery of all materials and any rented or purchased tooling/equipment

- Receive, inventory, replenish and load toolsets coming from and going to jobs
- Plan, select, assign, and dispatch the best-available personnel, tooling, and equipment necessary to successfully execute the project
- Know the abilities, experience, strengths, and weaknesses of field personnel and determine optimal crew assignments depending on the nature of the project
- Determine which vendors are best suited to fulfill the project requirements based on price, lead time, proximity, and other factors
- Review and approve vendor bills, ensuring invoiced amounts are correct, and vendors furnish all required quality controls, insurance, and other applicable backup documentation.
- Update purchase order logs and procurement tasks listed on weekly Level Two Schedule
- Understand the project budget and communicate any anticipated or actual cost overruns.
- Oversee maintenance and eventual sale of all vehicles, trailers, tooling, and equipment.
