We have been built on decades of construction experience in residential and commercial projects. We currently have several active projects throughout the state of Michigan, Illinois and Florida. Five Star Construction specializes in delivering superior construction management services.

This job posting is for a full-time or contracted Site Superintendent to construct a single story, 60000 s.f. +, assisted living and memory care facility. We are hiring Superintendents in several locations for this type of build.

Site Superintendents are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the construction site. We expect our Superintendents to thrive in challenging environments, push the limits, never settle, work their tail off until the job is done right, and to live the company maxims. To be successful at Five Star Construction, you will need to manage our construction site so well that the client is convinced their project is our only focus. To keep projects on track for the Five Star Construction you will:

• Coordinate installations by trade
• Have a book of trades/ subconstructors with previous experience
• Monitor and confirm that crews are making progress daily against the project schedule and that adequate crews/resources are made available as needed
• Perform all planned and random inspections of work and craftsmanship on a daily basis
• Be responsible for documenting all on site visits
• Enforce all company and manufacturer installation specifications
• Assure, to the best of your ability, that all materials, workmanship, and construction are in full compliance with project specifications, drawings, and building codes
• Meet building department inspectors when needed
• Complete minor repairs or adjustments needed to complete job
• Report major installation errors to crew leaders for correction
• Go on warranty service calls as scheduled by corporate office
• Conduct subcontractor and production department meetings
• Take in progress photos when needed
• Take after photos of all installs
• Estimate construction projects with assistance from project manager
• Responsible for safety standards throughout the project and to address violations of OSHA safety guidelines
• Assess and determine if additional resources are needed and work with project manager to address any issues
• Track progress against project schedule, anticipate delays, make adjustments as needed to meet expectations

• Ability to interact with government officials and clients in a professional manner
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
• Must be able to effectively manage to subcontractor performance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential

Compensation Package

Contractors

• $10,000-$14,000/mo based on experience
• Projects are typically 12-14 mos in duration
• Bonuses available based on performance against schedule
• Superintendents that are hired on a contractual basis and will receive a 1099

Full-time Employees

• $120000-$168000 annual based on experience
