Job Title: Construction Loan Closing Manager
Department: Loan Operations

The Construction Loan Closing Manager reports to the VP of Loan Operations and is responsible for leading the construction loan closing process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor construction loan closing pipeline activity and help lead discussion in weekly internal pipeline meetings.
- Provide oversight to the construction loan closing process, working with the Construction Loan Closing Specialist to ensure all projects that are anticipated to close within a 90-day timeframe are in regular closing calls with the lender, due diligence is being delivered, and the working group is actively moving towards target dates. Serve as liaison in communications and trouble shooting for progress as needed.
- Provide oversight to the identification of sureties and the required form and timeframe under which they need to be secured either for closing or post-closing.
- Review and provide in-depth comments to business points in loan documents to ensure they align to Redwood operations. Collaborate with internal and external counsel to resolve items of negotiation.
- Coordinate meetings between the closing team and Loan Administration prior to each closing to ensure the settlement statement and post-close deliverables conform to the loan documents and closing expectations.
- Partner with counsel and other teams within Redwood (i.e., Acquisition, Development, Construction) as needed to help solve issues that may impede progress or do not align with closing expectations.
- Assist in the onboarding of new lending relationships, helping them to learn Redwood operational business practices. Enhance lending relationships through open communication and collaboration throughout the closing process.
- Provide regular coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Assist in developing and maintaining procedures, contribute to ongoing system and process development and improvements as a subject matter expert.
- Provide back up support to the VP of Loan Operations as needed.

Required Qualifications, Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 5+ years of commercial construction loan closing experience required.
- Prior experience reviewing and negotiating commercial construction loan documents required.
- Prior management experience required.
- General computer proficiency required, including strong skills in Excel, Word and Outlook.
