Parents And Children Together (PACT) is searching for a dynamic and self-motivated Community Developer who will lead and facilitate identified initiatives that promote community impact and self-determination to build a strong and engaged Kalihi community and its local community leaders.

This Community Developer will initiate and foster relationships with partners, community leaders, local law enforcement, local schools, churches and residents to jointly develop Kalihi community plans and foster leadership from within. They will gather, analyze and share community data to guide effective and holistic services of new or existing programs that uplift the community.

Our ideal candidate will possess the sound knowledge and skills required to:

• Lead and participate in the Kalihi Connection Coalition; will engage, mobilize, and organize community members to promote social and economic equity and improve the quality of life for all residents.
• Advocate for the voices and needs of the families in the community and have an in-depth understanding of policies that affect them. Facilitate open communication and broad participation with local legislative policy makers, private and non-profit agencies, state and federal government agencies, and any key stakeholders in the community.
• Actively lead and participate in range of healthy positive activities to foster a sense of belonging and a shared conviction that members' needs will be met through commitment to be together.
• Build capacity to foster the growth of knowledge and resources amongst community members; work with agencies to stand up new services needed.
• Recruit and train volunteers to support various community building activities, with intentions of supporting and transferring leadership back to the members who show interest and skill to become key leaders.
• Build community leadership by coordinating quarterly leadership platforms or gatherings to foster continuous learning, maximizing individuals’ strengths, and identifying future leaders of the community.
• In conjunction with the President & CEO, attend and facilitate various meetings that will provide growth and development for the Kalihi community.

Education /Training:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources, Social Work, Public Health, Community/Organizational Development or related field, or equivalent, required.

Experience:

• Two (2) years’ experience in program supervision and/or management including program planning and development or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years’ experience in leadership or administrative capacity involving program planning, community development, social services and/or economic development or equivalent required.

Other:

• Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and daily access to an automobile.
• Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
