Position Overview

As a Commercial Finance Partner, you will be offered great breadth and depth of opportunity and challenge. You will provide best-in-class business partnering, supporting strategy and decision-making, which our business needs to operate efficiently and effectively. Effective Finance Partnering at ViiV sits at the heart of all strategic and operational decisions – providing insight, shaping options, and driving results. This role provides a unique vantage point from which to truly understand ViiV, as well as to experience a variety of the different business units and environments. We are looking for a strategic thinker who takes a proactive approach in driving the business agenda and solving organizational questions by being an effective partner to the business and a catalyst of performance and ambition.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…

• Partner across key business functions to optimize performance and investment opportunities within the ViiV organization and Innovation portfolio
• Understand overall US market dynamics, relative market positioning of products against competitors, market access situations and future trends
• Proactively monitor and advise key stakeholders of trends and insights shaping the business, including recurring and ad hoc financial performance updates
• Present to senior leadership the right level of financial analysis and recommendations to support the business in delivery of key performance measures and targets
• Introduce, socialize, and maintain on-going ROI/NPV/benchmarking analysis proposals and recommendations to ensure investments are most effectively managed and allocated across the portfolio and support decision making with senior leadership
• Leverage insights and awareness of monthly A&P and investment activities to inform and support month-end close activity and commentary
• Accountable for key forecast cycles activities including shaping the performance narrative, providing the right level of data and financials for review, validation of submission and key assumption alignment, working across finance, forecasting, Global, Costa Rica hub, and brand teams where appropriate
• Provide ad-hoc support to a varied number of finance projects/tasks across the US ViiV business
• Proactively seek solutions for continuous improvement and simplification in reporting and analysis
• Demonstrate strong cross functional matrix navigation and management
• Maintain a flexible approach to the role as business needs and the ViiV portfolio continue to evolve and continuously seek to find new opportunities to partner with the business
• Strong focus on development as a Finance Business Partner building key relationships within the ViiV finance team as well as stakeholders in the business, to be seen as a valuable strategic partner across the organization

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• Finance or Business degree and/or Professional qualification (e.g. CPA, MBA or international equivalent)
• 5+ years financial support experience
• Commercial finance experience, either at LOC, Regional or Global level; including prior experience working in commercial environment and demonstrated pharmaceutical business acumen
• Experience in financial modelling, investment appraisal, market and business insights analytics, strategic scenario planning

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of US pharmaceutical industry
• Financial support experience within US Pharmaceutical Industry strongly preferred
• Experience working across functions in a multi-location one finance team environment, with collaboration and effective coordination across key internal customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of working in a business advisory environment and ability to clearly present insights and complex business and financial information in a simple and compelling way to non-finance audiences
• Excellent influencing and engagement. Ability to engage senior stakeholders and challenge based on expertise and personal credibility
• Excellent customer and patient focus
• Experience of working in matrix organizations
• Decision-making recommendation for complex business challenges
• Ability to balance conflicting priorities
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity
