Job description
SUMMARY
This position set up, breaks down, operates, monitors, and troubleshoots plastic CNC machines. Ensures machined parts meet dimensional, quality and customer specifications. Performs additional production processes including grinding, assembly, soldering, and bonding.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform machine set ups within standard time and per set-up sheets and tool lists.
- Enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct machine malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
- Save and update program files.
- Communicate any mechanical or technical difficulties with supervisor or programmer to resolve problems.
- Operates CNC Machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Track and effectively communicate job progress.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Maintains SPC frequency and appropriately reacts to out of spec conditions.
- Understands CNC tool theory and Speeds & Feeds concepts as well as programming codes.
- Independently perform tool kitting operations and create custom tool sheets for new parts and change out bar loaders on machine when appropriate.
- Able to set-up repeat parts to the standard rates and meet standard production output requirements.
- Identify any missing materials and tools needed for cell. Identify issues impacting production and engage other resources (supervisor, Maintenance, etc.) as needed to ensure schedule attainment.
- Completes complex deburring, grinding, assembly, and other production tasks. May perform visual inspection.
- Maintain professional work environment through example and strong focus on business and production.
- Implement continuous improvement ideas and suggestions and demonstrate support of COS.
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment. Maintain and promote 5S.
- Must be willing and able to work weekends when needed.
Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 5-6 years of experience
- Vocational, high school diploma, or general education (GED); or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Trade school certificate preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions.
JOB SKILLS
- Knowledge and ability to edit CNC programs. Solidworks and Mastercam knowledge a plus.
- Experience setting up and machining plastic and/or wood a plus.
- Able to understand and follow the design intent behind a trim fixture.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
- Able to use measurement gauges and measure parts for conformance to specs and dimensional requirements.
- Able to set work offsets/tool offsets.
- Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently with minimal supervision to complete tasks

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- ASTM F–2413–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toed shoes
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses

SALARY INFORMATION
In compliance with CA state law, the hourly range for this position is $20-35 per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Carlisle Interconnect Technologies reviews factors such as but not limited to responsibilities of the position, scope of work, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal pay equity, as well as market considerations when extending an offer.
