GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Provides short and longer term specialized clinical services to victims of sexual violence and their loved ones, primarily in Brunswick County, but also in New Hanover County. Conducts Comprehensive Clinical Assessments and treats symptoms of trauma utilizing evidence based treatment modalities, such as CBT, TF-CBT, MI, and CPT. Develops and conducts specialized therapy groups for RCC clients. Oversees the development and implementation of RCC support groups. Develops and presents outreach programs and brochures, specific to clinical services. Provides training to staff and volunteers related to mental health. Provides rape crisis advocacy and education, individual crisis counseling, referrals, court advocacy and accompaniment and other services (groups, outreach, etc.) to community members primarily and/or adults who have experienced sexual violence. Provides on call, after hours rape crisis intervention services for sexual assault/abuse victims.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASSIFICATION:

  • Provides crisis intervention and trauma informed psychotherapy for victims of sexual abuse/assault and/or domestic violence and their family members.
  • Conducts Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, including using assessment tools.
  • Develops and implements clinical treatment plans.
  • Coordinates with other treatment providers, in addition to other involved agencies, as appropriate.
  • Completes appropriate documentation.
  • Provides consultation and training to staff, volunteers, and community professionals as requested.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or human services field.
  • Full licensure or provisional licensure accepted.

OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
